Like the economy, but much more epic.
I haven’t used my personal blog for he site in nearly a year to date. I intentionally wanted to use this is a blog for Basicallynothing.com in general, but after a year of running the domain and keeping my primary focus on the Game Review site/blog (http://www.BN-Games.com) I neglected to use this, or the main site. I know the main site is still a basic HTML links page to the game review site, Tim’s blog, and this one. I really plan on using this now for focusing on non game related hobbies and ideas for both the site and myself. I deleted every original post from 2009 as alot of it was some emo shit, but its kinda hard to blame me for the state of mind I was in for alot of reasons many of you know, or otherwise you don’t need to know. Id rather forget about that shit anyway, don’t have enough time on this earth to reflect. I plan on posting new music material that I will be recording with the same setup we use for the Basically Bullshit podcast. 2011 is going to be a year of growth for the websites in general. With a steady stream of games and game related material BN-Games.com will hopefully eventually become more than just non-corporate biased reviews. This blog may signal the final product of the eventual first album I will one day release as well. Im no looking to get rich, or make it big mainstream, the album will be a “Hey I did that, and it was awesome” more than anything else.
Speaking of the album, I know ive told ppl I want to focus on it, but things got in the way, and besides its hard to write when you don’t have a full group who is dedicated to learning or writing the songs. Im in need of a drummer, because no matter what Jon might tell you (That is IF he talks to you) he is not moving back from Kansas and I refuse to believe it until he’s back with a uhaul truck and or trailer. Id also like to find a second guitarist, mostly for rhythm and maybe someone who would learn some double parts for harmonies. Marco said he was interested, but I haven’t seen him pushing to practice etc. Im on the fence about finding a vocalist, though I think that’s the direction I should go in instead of it just being a bunch of instrumental pieces the way Ive written thus far. If it comes down to it though, I might end up just recording myself playing all of the pieces on multitrack because I haven’t had luck keeping anyone playing, going all the way back to highschool. Im determined to have something solid by the end of this year, I have the basic themes and tracks already laid down in my mind, its just a matter of perfecting them and then laying them down to tape, so to speak. Ideally id like to have a band that writes game reviews and podcasts. That would be a first to my knowledge, and firsts are few and far between on the internet. Dont expect daily blogs here, nor weekly. This will be a place I post things when I feel they need to be posted. We might even have a web comic “Cooking with Louis” in the works. We will have to see. 2010 is almost over, 2011 will hopefully be a productive and fruitful one, more so than any year before it.
