Pre Palming

SHINY!!!

SHINY!!!

Palm Pre thus far has exceeded my expectations, and was totally worth upgrading to. Waiting for the next OS update to see what kind of apps will be released.  Its Battery life has improved significantly with a few charges, and the OS remains fairly quick considering the amount of data and app testing ive been putting it through.  I guess my favorite update to the entire thing is the texting, compared to the Treo.  Its a much more integrated IM like application that reminds me alot of MSN messenger in its look and feel.

Alot of what the WebOS needs now in future updates is best said at this blog

If your a Sprint Customer though, or looking to switch carriers, this phone is definitely worth looking at, and in the realm of Smartphones, worth the purchase.

I decided I will start a view different topics to keep a normal rotation of content on the blog.  This specific series will deal with “Revelations” or even comparisons to life experiences, opinions, situations, etc.  Its a slightly broad format that will evolve over time.  I don’t plan on doing to many topics per blog, I feel that I have more to complain about than I do to contemplate on.  Feel free to agree or Disagree with me, please comment on the blog with your opinions and or arguments, all are welcome.

1.  Underdogs – I find that I tend to root for the underdogs.  I characteristically dislike what would be considered popular, usually by the pop croud.  This falls in almost every catagory of life that could be arranged in this manner.  Oppeating Systems for example, I perfer Linux over Windows, and or the watered down Linux known as OSX.  I take the truth and reality as real value in something like this for example Real Linux is better than both these combined, in every aspect.  Cost, speed, reliability.  Ibanez Guitars over overpriced pieces of shit like Les Paul’s, more guitar for the money, better tone, better action, etc.  Some of this may sound like opinion to many of you, but its straight fact that you choose to ignore.  Many things I would back with my support happen to not be the common and accepted standard, as I find people will rally behind something due to false advertising and hype, rather than the cold stone facts.  The Playstation 3 is the best console on the market, but people go and buy the Xbox 360 with a known 30 to 50% chance of hardware failure.  It really goes on and on.

Windows 7 Initial Impressions

August 12th, 2009 Bobby No comments

So I installed the Release Candidate Windows Build 7100 version of Windows 7 64bit edition.  It was a very quick easy install, one of the easiest clean installations ive ever done for windows ever.  It nearly found all of the drivers for all of my devices and components during the initial installation, and on top of that, recognized my laptop model which I was extremely impressed with due to the fact that it is a custom laptop.  On top of that its a slightly older model of Alienware that was released pre vista, so I wasn’t expecting much.  I updated the Sound and Video card drivers, and after that it ran like a champ.  Thus far Ive installed nearly every program I would need or use, with little issue at all.  the UI is fast and clean, and for the most part everything is efficient.  The new taskbar is a phenomenal redesign which I hope becomes a mainstay in future releases of Windows, and the Aero glass effects are not to shabby either.  After nearly a week of solid usage I can happily say im ready to upgrade my Windows XP partitions to the new OS.  I will be upgrading my machine to 4 gigs of ram to compensate for some of the extreme multitasking Ive been putting the OS and hardware through, but other than a slight hiccup here and there, less so than my XP installation, its a worth successor and I can definitely recommended to Windows users.  Updated impressions will follow as I go on.
